1) Advantages and disadvantages of electric cars
Nowadays, we live in the age of technology and modern inventions that have changed the world to the better. One such amazing inventions is electric cars or green cars, which can reduce many problems that the earth is suffering from, but it has some drawbacks too. This essay will cast the light on the advantages and disadvantages of electric cars.
On one hand, electric cars are eco-friendly. Because electric cars use electric energy instead of the fuel, there will be little carbon dioxide in the air so people can breathe fresh air. Therefore, electric cars can reduce many environmental problems such as air pollution, global warming, and climate change. Also, electric cars can save money. Because electric cars run with electricity, which is cheaper than petrol, people will spend little money on charging them with electricity and this can reduce prices of transported products.
On the other hand, there are some major cons that should be taken into consideration. Unluckily, electric cars are very expensive. Because there are few produced electric cars in the world, their prices are higher than cars that run with petrol. This can make many people unable to buy them. Another disadvantage is that charging stations are limited all over the country. Therefore, if the charge went out, the car is completely over unless you find a charging station nearby.
To sum up, this essay has discussed the advantages and disadvantages of electric cars. Although they are eco-friendly and they can save money, they are expensive, and their charging stations are limited. I hope that electric cars replace all petrol-powered cars soon.
2) Advantages and disadvantages of living longer ( increased life expectancy )
Today people are living longer than people in the past due to the better health care. Some people think that living longer has advantages while other people think that it has disadvantages. This essay will discuss the two opposite views.
On one hand, living longer can produce great works and inventions. Really, people who have talents, can do a lot of contribution to the humanity especially in their old age. When talented people retire from their work, they can benefit from their free time in making great things or inventions. Also, living longer is very useful for young generation. When young people sit with old people, they can get much wisdom and learn many experiences from them.
On the other hand, living longer is a heavy burden for countries. Indeed, old people may suffer from many diseases, so they need much health care. Governments must spend much money to care for old people and give them pensions. Besides, living longer may be not good for young people. When people live for long years, they hold high positions in companies and government sectors. Much worse, many countries are starting to postpone the age of retirement due to the aging problems. Therefore, many young people will not have the chance to hold high positions in their societies.
To sum up, living longer is a double-edged weapon. It may be useful in producing great works and getting experience from old people while it may be harmful in spending much money on old people and making young people unable to hold high positions. I strongly support living longer but we should provide old people enough care.
